Moving Out & A Winner

I don't believe that I have written about Mine and Jamals history. We started dating right before I graduated from high school. And it was the best summer I have ever had. It was a new relationship full of new adventures. Even if a lot of the things we did that summer I had done before, it was better this time because it was with him.

Well that summer came and went quickly and before I knew it it was the beginning of August and I was heading to my first year of OKLAHOMA. Yep Jamal was in Minnesota and my future was in Oklahoma. Although we had only been dating for a few months we he made the decision to stay together. I was indifferent haha. At that point I didn't exactly care either way because I understood if he wanted to end it. I was going to be half a day away! and We just started dating.

That first year came and went and I am so glad that we stuck it out. I don't know what I would have done if he wasn't there for me always a phone call/text away. And of course I took every single opportunity to drive home and see him. By the middle of the year I had realized that this was not the school for me and I wouldn't be coming back the following year so April could not come fast enough. I wanted out.

Once I was home it was so amazing to be close to Jamal again. And that next school year I chose to go to a community college close to home. It was a really good year, until it was over and I had to find a school where I could get my bachelors degree. There were so many schools but in the end I chose Mankato. A school that is 2 hours from my house...and Jamal. So again we were back to the long distance thing. But it wasn't so horrible this time. And halfway through Jamal moved in with my family.

Then this year I ended up commuting to school and Jamal is living at my house. So that means I see him All. The. Time. And I love it. Well here we are again, I am needing to figure something out for next year-my last year. And truthfully as great as this year has been it it stressful and taking its toll. I hate to think of the 8 hours  a week I waste commuting to and from school. So after a lot of talking and thinking I chose to move down to Mankato for my final year. I am getting an apartment with some girls that I go to school with. And I am so excited but also scared. We have done the long distance thing 2 times now and it sucks. So I hate to have to go through it again. But it is just for 9 months and then I never have to do it again.

So as of August 1st I will have a new home down by school and hopefully that means better studying habits. Yay for senior year :)

Sorry for not posting a giveaway winner on Monday...I forgot. So here it is now. Everyone who entered was a MN blogger :) Melissa is the lucky winner!!! Congrats! I will email you soon

This Weekend I...

It is Monday and I have a busy week ahead that is already stressing me out! Thankfully this morning I tried this new mint tea I just bought and loved it. It made me feel good and awake and ready to take on the week!

Well here is the weekend run down:

This weekend I
went to my cousin Jaxson's 5th birthday. It was a pool party at a hotel. I didn't swim but it was fun watching all the little kids running around and playing.

This Weekend I
Had a fun game night with Greg, Karissa,  Dustin, and Hayley. We first got dinner at Smashburger (yum) and  then some fro-yo for dessert to gear up for our late night. We played spoons, BS, Uno and Monopoly until 4 in the morning!! It was a ton of fun we didn't even realize how late it was.

This Weekend I
Slept in after my late night and then went to another birthday party, this time for my cousin Noelles 2nd birthday. We got there late so we missed the good BBQ but again had a good time talking with family and watching the kiddos play

This Weekend I
was craving some BBQ after anticipating it at the party so Jamal and I tried out this place that has been on our list for a while now, Q Fanatic. It was so good. The pulled pork was amazing. We will definitely be going back. But of course I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture.

How was your weekend? Eat anything good?

Unofficially Officially It Is Spring

Today it is now Spring. But not according to the temperature outside. It is freezing. Like January freezing. My phone says that it's 10 degrees and feels like negative. Lame. What is going on?? I am just waiting for it to steadily be over 40 every day.

Even though it is way too cold outside today is a happy day. Why you ask. Because I am going to have the most enjoyable ride home listening to Justin's new album. I went out and bought it yesterday and I am in love. It is different but in the best way ever. I am so happy he is back on the music scene. And of course cannot wait for July 22nd to see his gorgeous self on stage.

Well that's all I've got for today. If you missed it check out my post from yesterday. My little Bloggy turned 1 and I have a little giveaway for you :)

MN Blogger Meet Up: Favorite Things

Today I should be back at school for my first day back from Spring Break. But after getting up this morning and seeing the snow on the ground I figured it wouldn't be worth the long drive for a few classes. So I here I am at home hoping to be productive today.

This past weekend was so busy and yet so much fun. I work Friday during the day and then headed over to Greg and Karissa's. We went out to dinner at Tryg's for the first time. We weren't big fans of it and won't be going back anytime soon. After dinner we went back to their place to play some games.

Then Saturday I got off work at 3 then raced around getting dressed and picking up a snack and a few of my favorite things before going to the Blogger Meet Up for our Favorite Things party.
My favorite thing that I brought to share was the salted caramel cupcake from Nadia Cakes

It was so much fun seeing everyone and getting to pick out some fun things to bring home. Then after the party some of us went to uptown to get some drinks. It was especially fun since some of the blogger hubbys came so it was nice to meet all of them!
These are the items that I picked out and got to take home

The Chan Fan up there was a big hit! Complements of Andrea :)
Melissa, Jess and Me
All the Lovely MN blogger ladies that came

Our spread of fave things
It was a great Spring Break spending time with some wonderful friends. But now it is back to real life and I have got some homework to catch up on.

Hello Work Weekend

Happy Friday Friends!!

My weekend was on Wednesday and Thursday so I will be at work on St Patty's day. Sad face. But I hope you all have fun and enjoy it!!

This past week was my spring break and I had lots of fun outings with friends I don't see too often lined up. But then they all cancelled. And I was crabby about it. I'm not blaming any of them (well maybe a couple) but it just kinda ruined my mood for a day. But it was easily fixed with a quick workout, a hot shower, a great massage and my favorite Chinese food.

What do you do to make yourself feel better when you aren't in a great mood?

And also Follow me on Bloglovin!! All the cool kids are doing it ;)

Free Sunglasses?? I'm In! (Review)

I am sure that many of you have heard of Firmoo before and seen their reviews all over the place, but it is for good reason! They are a great company and sooo easy to work with. And they help you out with every single step of the ordering process if you have any questions.

When they first contacted me I wasn't very interested considering that I don't wear glasses and glasses for fashion are not my style. But I was quickly informed that I could get regular glasses and then have them tinted to perfection. I got to choose the tint color as well as how dark I wanted them to be. So awesome!

And not only do you just get the glasses but they come with this great  little case, a small bag, AND a little repair kit! Everything you would need for your new glasses.

I didn't take much time trying deciding on what pair to pick (it was a little hard for me to imagine the glasses as sunglasses) but nonetheless I was pretty excited to get them and see how they would look. They even have this fun little tool where you can upload a picture to see how the frames would look on you.
I couldn't find the exact link for the ones I got but these ones are really similar here

As soon as my little package came in the mail I tried them on. Jamal said I look FBI-not quite the look I was going for haha. But I think they are cute. I liked how the bottom of the rims were clear. Next time maybe I would go for bigger frames-but I like them.

You can get your first pair of glasses from Firmmo for FREE too!! Just go here. Seriously, it's worth it.

Weekend Recap!

This weekend was a great start to my spring break. And I actually remembered to take pictures!! But I didn't say they would be the best quality :)

I met at Caribou with Ashley to catch up a bit. Lately our schedules have been opposite so it is hard to find time to hang out.
Then after work my coworker Alaycia and I went to Applebees for some drinks and apps (potato twisters-my fave!)

Jamal made me a yummy smoothie for breakfast
Then we got Chipotle for lunch
And Saturday night I babysat Riley and had Macy by my side all night.
A little after 10 I finally got Riley to sleep and then watched a little bit of How to lose a guy in 10 days

Did some shopping at Costco with the family
Looked at a ton of houses on the Parade of Homes tour (talk about a workout with all the stairs!)
Got lunch at Which Wich
And got some DQ for a good snack while watching Numbers to end the day.

It was a fun yet busy weekend. Hope yours was great!! Now I am excited to be watching the Bachelor tonight for the first time this season in real time :)

Snow Snow Every Where Makes People Forget How To Drive

Happy Friday!! I am now on Spring Break...but still have some homework and a test to do :(

With all the snow happening around here it leaves some people to do some pretty stupid things.

First of all, when it snows it is a good idea to wipe the snow off of your car. Some people think this is optional. Um no, I don't want all the hard snow flying at me once we get on the highway!! It seriously takes less than 5 minutes.

And secondly, with a lot snow the parking lots usually don't get plowed very well and you can never see the lines. This makes for some really bad parking jobs. Especially on a college campus, we may here to get smart but some of us sure don't know how to park. For example, taking up 2 spaces because of you don't know how much room you need, or maybe this would mean pulling up and parking on what would have been the curb/grass because you can't tell how far you are in. The parking lot at school was a mess on Wednesday. The gym was kinda bad too. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of any of this since people were stalking me to my spot for my space.

But with the snow there also are some very thoughtful neighbors. For whatever reason my mom did not think it would be necessary to buy a snowblower when we moved into our house years ago and it since has not become a priority. I think differently but it is what it is. So as you can imagine it gets quite tiring shoveling a foot of snow when the snow banks are already almost as tall as I am!! Well 2 snowfalls ago I came home to find our driveway had gotten snowblowed!!!! Who on earth could have done this?? We didn't know. But then again with this past storm the bottom was shoveled out for us :) (the end of the drive is the worst thanks to the plows) My mom got curious and texted our neighbor. It was him!! So sweet and thoughtful. Thanks kind neighbor Shane!!
I know it is kinda hard to tell but this is the bottom where the snow is no longer thanks to Shane :)

Getting A Little Touchy Feely

You know when you think of that perfect blog post and then BAM it just eludes you never to be thought of again. Yea that happened to me yesterday. I had the perfect post for today. It was going to be flawless; beautiful words, perfect ratio of words to pictures, and thought provoking....K I wish. I really did have a great post idea that I can't remember anymore but the rest of that...yea probably not. Anyway, Fear Not for inspiration struck again. And is back with a vengeance.

For all of you out there with significant others (S/O), you know those days where your S/O is being super clingy and you just wish they would go away. They don't want to be anywhere but near you and you're just fighting to get some space.

Yea, that was Jamal last night. I just wanted him to hold my hand. And sit close to me. And also just cuddle while we watched our show. And maybe give me a hug or five. Oh and a kiss would have been nice too (he won't kiss me when I'm sick). But nooooo all he wanted to do was play his video games with his boyfriend AKA Greg. He couldn't get rid of me fast enough. Trying to shove me off to bed. Trust me my friends, I did not leave without a fight. But eventually he won for it was getting late and I of course had to work this morning.

But you just wait, payback will happen. I promise.

Does this ever happen to you?? One person wants space and the other wants to be close. Pretty sure this is the norm for Jamal and I. We are never on the same schedule.

Juicing the Sickness Away

For once I am pretty excited that it is Monday because at 3:45 on Wednesday my spring break begins!! Sadly I have no travel plans this year but that leaves me plenty of time to hang with some friends that I don't usually get to see and check out some mansions on the Parade of Homes tour. But that's not til next week so for now here's the weekend run down.

This Weekend I...
Spent most of my time on the couch sick. Boo hoo. The icky sore throat started on Wednesday and by Friday I was so miserable I could barely move. On Friday I left work early and made my way to the couch where I didn't leave except for a 2 hour time period where I moved to my bed for a nice nap and then was back at the couch again. On the bright side I got to watch hours of TV and not feel a bit guilty about it :)
The drinking happened on Wednesday night before I was feeling terrible.

This Weekend I...
By Saturday I had started feeling better so I worked and then took the night off from babysitting (didn't want to get Riley sick) so I used that free time to hit up the grocery store with my mom so she could buy me some food.

This Weekend I...
Got up to head to church Sunday morning and then went to have lunch with Greg, Karissa and Nina at Five Guys. Afterwards for dessert we got some Fro-yo at Cherry Berry. Delicious.

This Weekend I...
Made some juice. It has been a while since we have used our juicer but when I saw this recipe the Katie posted on Instagram I knew I had to try it. It was really good and much sweeter than I expected.
1 Orange
1 Lemon (she only used half but I threw in the whole thing)
2 Apples
2 Kiwi

Hope you had a great weekend!! Linking up with Sar and Syndal
