Peanut Butter Balls

Life has not slowed down one bit since I finished finals. But I am enjoying not being in school.

Today I bring you a recipe for peanut butter balls of goodness. I found this on Pinterest and wanted to recreate it immediately! Luckily I had all the ingredients on hand. The original recipe can be found here.

I did substitute and leave some things out, also I didn't really measure anything, just guesstimated. I think they turned out great and are nice to have for when you want something sweet or even for a quick breakfast on the go.

            My Version:
  • Chocolate chips
  • White Chocolate Peanut Butter
  • Oatmeal
  • Honey
  • Hemp Fiber Protein

Just pour it all in a bowl and mix it up like so

Then roll into balls and throw in the fridge for an hour or so.
And Ta-da!! Fast, easy AND delicious peanut butter balls!

You can add pretty much anything you like!! Coconut, nuts, dried bananas, craisins. What would you add in? The options are endless :)

MN Blogger Meet Up: Pictures with Santa

A week later I have finally gotten around to posting about our latest MN blogger Meet up, this time we met at the Mall of America for a picture with Santa and then we got dinner and drinks at Dick's Last Resort. This crazy restaurant where the waiters are rude and sarcastic and you are supposed to like it!! It was pretty funny. We each got to wear a paper hat throughout the meal with some less than appropriate sayings. Thank you Kelly for providing most of these pictures :)

Becky brought little baby Bailey with, we were all in love, including Santa.

We also did a fun Secret Santa, Jess was my 'santa' and got me some awesome stuff. Thank you lady!!

(don't mind Jamal's ashy elbow...)

It was a blast and I cannot wait for our next one!

It's Not Christmas Without Snow

This Weekend I...
Okay, not really but we did get 7 inches of snow in a day. The roads were horrible and the plows could not keep up. It was pretty crazy but soooo pretty. Expect for the fact that I am as sore as can be after working out at the gym only to come home and shovel the drive way (were not cool enough to have a snow blower)  then have to do it again today!! That massage I am going to get to much is much needed!

This Weekend I...
Attended my family's annual Christmas Party, AKA Pasqualli's. It is always a good time with family, drinking and snacking on appetizers.

This year Santa couldn't make it due to the snow so one of his elves came in his place.

PS to my MN bloggers, sorry I have been a major slacker!! Post coming tomorrow about the meet up :)

Weekend Fun

Life is super hectic right now, week before finals!!! So sorry if I am neglecting this little blog of mine as well as all of yours :( but soon I will have so much free time I won't know what to do with myself! K, not really but I won't have to study for anything for the next month so that is always a plus.

This Weekend I...

Hung out with Nickle and baby Elijah. I haven't seen them in a while so it was fun to spend time with them and catch up.

This Weekend I...

Made cookies with Karissa. But we didn't make very many, only delicious peanut cookies but instead of putting a kiss in the middle we put in mini reeses!!! Brilliant and so good. And also for my first time ever Oreo truffles. So easy and quite yummy.

ps Do you put those chocolate stars in the middle or kisses??? I always love putting the hugs in the middle too.

This Weekend I...

Had a girls night with my mom and sister. We had Panera for dinner then went to "The Story" tour. It was this concert which had about 5 different singers, including Jeremy Camp and Matthew West :) And they told the story of Jesus by singing songs about different people in the Bible. It was pretty cool. But it was getting late so we had to leave at the intermission so I could somewhat function today.

Linking up with Sar again

And Today I am looking forward to the MN Blogger meet up tomorrow!!!! YAY! Can't wait to see all you ladies :)

Why Men Don't Do Laundry

Okay, I may be exaggerating. My bra didn't go from that 1st one to the next one, but still.
Pictures via & via

I have had one or two or ten laundry mishaps. But I have learned! The first probably being sometime in middle school, you know when you got new jeans and you were so excited to wear them that you didn't even wash them?? Yea that has happened to me too, and then I get awesome new blue shoes to go along with them. Not so awesome.

Or what about after you realize the jeans need to be washed, you just forget that they shouldn't be washed your cute new white shirt...oops.

But like I said, I've learned. And I am now a pro at doing my laundry, kind of. I don't separate whites and colors or anything like that, but my laundry does get done and nothing gets ruined most of the time. So it works.

Well like has been kinda hectic for me lately, and Jamal did a couple loads of laundry to "help" me out. Which I was very grateful for, until this morning when I went to find something to wear only to find that ALL my clothes okay like 2 shirts and a couple bras had been dried when they shouldn't have so they shrunk and got all icky. Waaaaaa I have nothing to wear now! And ALL of my clothes are destroyed!!! Well those four items anyway. And that my friends, is why men don't do laundry.

The End

My Devotion To The BEARS

As I mentioned in this previous post, I am a whole hearted Chicago Bears fan through and through (since a month ago). And to show how devoted of a fan I am I needed some gear so that everyone would know who I side with.

I have been scouring the web pages for the best Bears apparel that I could find and this is what I found:

Thank you NFL Shop :)

And to prove that I have liked the Bears for some time now and just didn't quite actually know it here is the hat I bought Jamal for Christmas last year. He likes Chicago too :)

Thanksgiving: Chicago Style

Happy Cyber Monday!!!
Hope all of you had a nice long weekend and are surviving your first day back! I had a great thanksgiving but it was so busy I barely had a minute to sit. Here's the rundown.

Jamal, Brian and I drove down to Chicago to surprise Jamals family for Thanksgiving, his dad was the only person who knew. I couldn't wait to get there and see the faces of his grandparents and brother.

We left around 2am Thursday morning and made it to Jamals grandparents house around 9am, lucky for me the guys did all the driving. After being on the road for a few hours we were all hungry but couldn't find anything open!! Finally somewhere is Wisconsin we found a McDonalds that provided some great breakfast :) note to self, bring food when traveling on holidays!

When we got there his dad let us in and Jamal walked into the back room to surprise his brother Malcolm  It was so cute. Malcolm was so excited and upset at the same time because we didn't tell him! Then Jamal went upstairs to say hi to his grandparents so I missed that one. There were all so happy to see us and Jamal was so happy to be there. It was perfect.

We spent most of the day sitting around talking, eating and watching football. Around 9 I was ready to call it a night, I was so exhausted from not getting sleep the night before so we headed back to our hotel.

Friday morning we got up and headed to Chicagos Chicken and Waffles for breakfast. Best breakfast ever!! After that we ventured over to the Navy Pier and then walked around downtown for a bit before heading back over to Jamals grandparents. We took his dad and brother out for dinner, deep dish pizza, and then back to the hotel we went.

Saturday Brian decided that he wanted to stay at the hotel so Jamal and I got a day to ourselves. We ate breakfast at Chucks Cafe drove around town and did some shopping and then went back downtown for lunch. We got hot dogs at Chicagos Dog House and then dessert at Molly's Cupcakes, then we walked around and did some more window shopping. I love Downtown Chicago. Then around 5 we went to Jamals grandparents for a few hours before going to pick up Brian for dinner at DMK Burger

Sunday we slept in a little and had a nice lazy morning before going over to Jamals grandparents to watch the Bears v Vikings game. And eat cupcakes from Sprinkles It was a lot of fun, Brian is a dedicated Vikings fan and Jamal and I are Bears hardcore fans. After watching my team take the win we started for home but not before stopping for the famous Garrett Popcorn

It was a really fun weekend and seeing Jamal so happy made it all the better.

Until next time Chicago

Hammin It Up

Happy Thanksgiving!!
How cool is this turkey cake I found while grocery shopping the other day?? It is even stuffed!

I am so thankful for soo many things in my life, including all of you :)

It is nice to sit and think of all the things I am grateful to have because face it, sometimes life gets really chaotic and stressful and we forget how fortunate we truly are.

I am so lucky that this year I will be spending time in Chicago with Jamal's family while eating as much mashed potatoes as I can (my fave) and a ham bought especially for me :) I'm not a big turkey fan.

Then when I get home Sunday I can't wait to eat my mom's most amazingly delicious White Castle stuffing! YUM

And then pull out the Christmas tree! Anyone else out there wait until after Thanksgiving for the Christmas decorations?

Hope you all have a great weekend!! And eat until you can't eat anymore :)

Dominican Republic 2012

Finally I am getting around to posting about our trip and going through all our pictures. It was so pretty and I can't wait to go back already ♥

After traveling all morning and afternoon we finally made it there around 3. We stayed at Lifestyle Resorts just outside of Puerto Plata. We got a great hotel room! It was a little apartment! So cute. We just explored the resort for the day seeing where everything was. Our room was on the quieter side of the resort and no where near the beach but it was still really nice. We tried a couple different places to eat, the food was alright. But that's okay because the first sighting of the ocean made the whole trip worth it.

 The view from our balcony
 Our little living room
We got up early and had breakfast, with a special guest. We took a tour of the whole resort. It was HUGE! Again we just kinda lounged around, checked out the VIP beach which had some awesome cabanas and drank A TON of Pina Coladas. That night it rained and while we were out at dinner at an Asian restaurant our room got infested with moths! Yuck. So we ended up locking ourselves in our room for the rest of the night!

Our breakfast guest :)

We again got an early start for breakfast and then headed to go get coconut massages at the spa!! It started out with a session in the sauna, then from there some jacuzzi time. We then got a coconut scrub all over before getting our relaxing massage using coconut milk in the lotion. So fun.

After our massages we literally spent the entire day at the beach and sipping on more drinks. We met some fun people from Boston and hing out with them for the afternoon. For dinner that night we checked out the Dominican restaurant and got serenaded while we ate. It rained again this night but luckily we had learned to turn off our outside light and didn't have any intruders when we got back to our room.

Our last day in paradise :( and it was raining. We ate some breakfast visited the beach one last time and then off we went.

It was sad to leave but we will be back one day!
